Low Water Crossing
May 2,
2003 - The City of Austin Office of Emergency Management awarded Explore-It!® LLC
a contract to build a Three Dimensional Scale Model for Low Water Crossing.
The 4' x 4' scale model will be used in schools, and other organizations
to demonstrate the hazards of low water crossing around Austin. 'Austin
is criss-crossed with creeks and tributaries, with many bridges and roadways
that go over these waterways. Low water crossings are a silent hazard
until a flash flood hits.' - City of Austin, Disaster Ready web site. The
model will be lightweight and portable allowing the operator to adjust water
flow into the model simulating different flood stages and hazards. 'We are
pleased to be working with the city on this important community education
project and would like to extend special thanks to the Business Success Center
www.bscusa.com and staff at the City of Austin for working with us to make
this happen.' - Jamie Rood, Creative Director, Explore-It!® LLC.
Explore-It!® LLC, based in Austin Texas, produces 'physical and virtual' visualization/simulation models and animation - see web site at www.explore-it.tv.
